Welcome

Hello and welcome to my site. Recently there has been and explosion of information on the internet and social media about how to improve your health and wellness. The problem is so much of this information is conflicting- one person says you should do this, then another says don’t do that, do this. Not to mention the amount of information out there is overwhelming.

So who should you believe? Who are you getting your information from? I’m here to help break down these overwhelming topics of nutrition and wellness into small bite size concepts that are easy to understand, digest and absorb.

I am not an influencer or getting paid for this information. I am not a recipe creator (but I love to cook and find healthy and nutritious recipes to share). I am also not a personnel trainer but fitness has always been a big part of my life.

I am a nurse with over 30 years experience and recently received my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) certification from the NTA (Nutritional Therapy Association). I am here to help you get back to the basics of Health and Wellness. As an NTP, we learn that developing a solid foundation is the key to optimal health and wellness. I hope to help you learn about this foundational basics:

  • Importance of a nutrient dense diet
  • How and why we should optimize our digestion
  • The importance of controlling our blood sugar
  • Why sleep is important
  • The importance of stress management and movement

I have two daughters ( 22 years old and 25 years old) who are living on their own and trying to figure this out. It’s easy when you are younger and living at home. Most of the time you have someone shopping for you and planning and cooking your meals. Your time/schedule is already set. Once you are on your own, things can get overwhelming. You may not be sure what to do or how to start. I wanted to start this blog to help my daughters, and you, learn how to take care of yourselves and their health and why its important.

Everyone likes a quick fix, but optimal health and wellness is not that. It is not something that “if you do this, you will see results tomorrow, or in a week, or even in 30 days.” Sustainable health and wellness takes time and work. Understanding the “why” behind it will hopefully make it stick and help you be able to choose the healthier, more optimal option.
